Man high on drugs crashes car into six vehicles

KOTA KINABALU: A man high on drugs crashed his car into six other vehicles, three of which were stationary.

Police received a call over the incident at about 5.15pm on Monday involving an accident at Mile 3 Jalan Apas in the Tawau east coast district.

Tawau police chief Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin said, based on their initial probe, a 32-year-old man was found recklessly driving into Bandar Tawau before he rammed into three parked vehicles and three moving ones, including a motorcycle.

He said the motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man, was the only person hurt in the incident, suffering gashes to both hands and his knee.

“Further investigations at the scene found that the suspect was driving under the influence of drugs,” ACP Jasmin said in a statement.

“We have detained him for further probe.”
