Cops arrest two over scuffle where 'kerambit' brandished at football game

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two suspects following investigations into a scuffle during a football match involving a sharp weapon.

When contacted Friday (Aug 9), Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Lazim Ismail said that a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old foreign woman were arrested on Thursday (Aug 8) at a house in Klang.

The main suspect then confessed to brandishing the weapon, a "kerambit" knife, adding that it was for self defence during the scuffle.

A report was previously lodged on Aug 5 after two football teams were involved in a scuffle at the KLFA football centre at Desa Melawati.

Nobody was hurt during the incident but a police investigation was launched after a suspect brandished a sharp weapon during the fight.
