Cops tracking down man who allegedly brandished weapon at football game


KUALA LUMPUR: The police are tracking down the man who allegedly brandished a sharp weapon during a scuffle between two football teams at the KLFA football centre at Desa Melawati.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Lazim Ismail said that the police received a report from a 23-year-old man at 2.21am on Monday (Aug 5).

"The complainant claimed that there was a scuffle between his team and a rival team. During the incident, one of the players from the rival team brought a sharp weapon and pointed it towards one of the complainant's teammates," he said when contacted on Monday.

ACP Mohammad Lazim said that the police are in the midst of identifying and tracking down the suspect.

"No one was hurt during the incident. We are investigating under Section 6(1) of the Section 6 (1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958," he said.
