Cops to apply for ‘Order To Investigate’ to record statement of actor for assault


PETALING JAYA: The police will apply for an Order To Investigate (OTI) from the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) to record the statement of the actor who allegedly punched his girlfriend during an argument.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said the police needed the OTI from the DPP, to call up the suspect.

"We have to obtain the OTI from the DPP.

"We will call up the suspect after obtaining the OTI," he said when contacted on Tuesday (July 9).

It was reported that an actor had allegedly punched his girlfriend while having an argument recently.

The complainant had lodged a police report at the Seapark police station after the attack on Sunday (July 7).

It was alleged that the couple had an argument inside the vehicle belonging to the boyfriend and amid the argument, punched the girlfriend’s right eye and body.

The case is classified under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
