Report lodged against Pakatan campaign worker for alleged lewd conduct

NIBONG TEBAL: PKR says the incident involving a Pakatan Harapan campaign worker who allegedly acted lewdly towards a female reporter will be left to the police.

"I assure you that it is entirely under the authority of the police.

"The police can use all legal provisions available to investigate the incident," said PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail during a press conference here on Thursday (July 4).

He was asked about the incident that allegedly happened during Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's programme at Sungai Kechil on Wednesday (July 3).

The victim lodged a police report at about midnight, saying that she felt something touching her back repeatedly and saw the suspect acting suspiciously when she turned around.

South Seberang Prai police OCPD Supt Chong Boo Khim confirmed that police received the report and that the matter is under investigation.
