DNB's chief executive officer has yet to be chosen, says Gobind

SUBANG JAYA: No chief executive officer has been chosen for Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) yet, says Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

He said that the latest development is that the share subscription agreements (SSA) were signed by certain parties last week.

Speaking to reporters after the launch of MydinPay held here on Tuesday (26 June), Gobind said that the decision about DNB’s CEO might be decided later as the SSA agreement process is ongoing to the end of this week.

On June 20, four telcos are set to complete the SSA with DNB, after all the conditions precedent under the agreement have been successfully met.

Under the terms of the SSA, the telcos will collectively acquire a 70% equity stake in DNB; this is a necessary prerequisite for a second 5G network.

“After that, the new directors will meet, and the question of the new CEO will be raised at this discussion," said Gobind.

He added that the issue of the appointment of the CEO is not discussed with him.

“This is an issue discussed between the directors of the DNB companies and that is the process they will go through after the (SSA) agreement process is completed,” said Gobind.
