Man nabbed for peeping at woman in shopping mall toilet in Johor

BATU PAHAT: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for peeping at a woman in a shopping mall toilet.

Batu Pahat acting OCPD Supt Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the incident took place at the mall in Jalan Flora Utama here, around 12.30pm on Thursday (June 13).

“The 28-year-old victim was in the toilet when she noticed the suspect, who was in the next stall, peering from the bottom of the separator.

“The victim screamed for help while spraying the suspect’s face with a toilet hose,” he said in a statement on Friday (June 14).

He added that the mall security guard came to assist the woman and caught the suspect hiding in the toilet kiosk.

They then reported the incident to the police.

“The suspect has been placed under remand for four days until June 17 for investigation under Section 377D of the Penal Code for gross indecency,” he said.

The offence is punishable with a jail term of up to two years if convicted.

A video clip of the suspect being reprimanded by the security guard in the toilet also made rounds on social media.
