Five escape fire at two-storey Shah Alam house


SHAH ALAM: Five people were rescued after a two-storey house caught fire here.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the incident occurred at Seksyen 9 at about 12.33am on Thursday (June 6).

"Firemen from the Shah Alam fire station were dispatched to the scene. The fire was mostly in the living room area on the second floor of the house. The house was about 30% burnt," he said in a statement.

Five victims - a man in his 40s, a woman in her 30s, an Indonesian woman in her 40s and two children aged 4 and 6 - were rescued from the fire, he said.

"The victims were sent to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment," added Ahmad Mukhlis.
