KOTA KINABALU: Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) Land Operations Division chief-of-staff, Senior Assistant Comm (SAC) Datuk Chandrasehkaran Muthu, cremated following the Hindu rites at the Fook Lu Siew funeral parlour here on Monday (June 3).

Fondly known as Chandra, the 56-year-old’s wake drew a large crowd.

“He was a very dedicated officer and was very much well-liked by many for being friendly. His passing is a great loss to the team,” said Esscom Commander Deputy Comm Datuk Victor B. Sanjos.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun, meanwhile, said that apart from Chandra’s dedication, he was also a hardworking person.

Chandra was found unconscious at his house at around 7am on Saturday (June 1) and was rushed to the Sabah Women and Children's Hospital in Likas, where he was pronounced dead at 8.45am.

Chandra left behind his wife, Datin Vyetty Thomas Tajal, and three children: Loshini (20), Laxman (18), and Laxme (16).
