One Belt One Road expo to pave path to boost ties

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian and Chinese entrepreneurs can take advantage of the upcoming exhibition organised by MCA Youth to network and have better business collaboration.

Its chief, Ling Tian Soon, said the party will host the “One Belt One Road Trade Expo 2024” which will be held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations this year.

The exhibition will be held at IOI’s Grand Exhibition and Convention Centre in Putrajaya later this year from Sept 13 to 15.

“We expect to attract 150 companies to participate, where 100 will be from China and 50 from Malaysia, along with 10,000 visitors,” he said.

Ling said this will be a comprehensive platform where both countries’ companies and entrepreneurs can network and collaborate under the “One Belt One Road” initiative.

“We want this exhibition to kick-start business partnerships between Malaysian and Chinese companies.

“At the same time, we hope Malaysia’s exhibitors and companies will have an opportunity to expand their business to China,” he said.

Ling said this will be a platform where the best products and services from both countries can be showcased, adding that it is also an opportunity for mutual learning and growth,

He said top companies are invited to participate in the exhibition, covering a wide range of industries including food technology, automotive and transportation, artificial intelligence products and tourism.

There will be an area dedicated to business matching, he said, to facilitate Chinese and Malaysian companies to have one-to-one negotiations.

Ling hopes that more young entrepreneurs will be motivated and supported to further their business ambitions through the exhibition.
