GEORGE TOWN: Several branches of an old tree outside Masjid Kapitan Keling fell during a thunderstorm on Thursday (May 22).

The tree branches fell on top of several motorcycles at about 6pm, but there were no casualties.

"A team of four APM personnel from the George Town Civil Defence Department headquarters were deployed to clear the fallen tree branches," said Northeast district Civil Defence Department officer Capt (PA) Muhammad Aizat Abd Ghanihe.

Muhammad Aizat said the deployed personnel also found bee hives on the fallen branches, which have been relocated.

He said the team took about 30 minutes to clear the debris and fallen branches on the pavement along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling.
