Man dies in fall from Tawau building

KOTA KINABALU: A man died after falling from a building on Jalan Apas in Tawau.

According to Tawau OCPD Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin, the victim – whose identity had yet to be ascertained – was naked.

Prior to the incident at noon on Sunday (May 12), the victim was reportedly seen wandering in front of a fast food restaurant.

“A security guard informed the restaurant operator to shut its doors," ACP Jasmin said in a statement on Monday (May 13).

Shortly afterwards, a restaurant worker saw a man covered in blood lying in front of the outlet, ACP Jasmin added.

Police received a call at 12.17pm and rushed to the scene, he said.

ACP Jasmin said medical officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene, and the body was taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.

He urged witnesses to come forward and help in the investigation.
