Zahid congratulates lawn bowler Farah on gold medal win at world meet

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi congratulated lawn bowls athlete Nor Farah Ain Abdullah on her historic gold medal victory at the 2024 World Bowls Indoor Championships in Guernsey, the Channel Islands on Sunday (April 28).

Ahmad Zahid said the success of the 23-year-old, who also contributed a bronze medal in the mixed pairs event with Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple, proved that nothing is impossible.

"May Farah Ain continue to excel and inspire other athletes to never give up and believe in their own abilities," he said in a Facebook post on Monday (April 29).

Ahmad Zahid also hoped Malaysia would continue to produce more great athletes and be able to raise the country's name on the world stage.

Nor Farah Ain made history for the country when she won the gold medal after a stylish 6-2,6-3 victory over Connie Rixon of Malta in the final of the women’s singles event. – Bernama
