KOTA KINABALU: Mobile and digital services provider U Mobile upped its presence in East Malaysia by launching its first store at the Imago Shopping Mall here on Friday (April 26).

Its chief marketing officer Navin Manian said this represented their commitment to expanding their footprint in the region.

“U Mobile is excited to launch our first store in East Malaysia at Imago Mall, Kota Kinabalu,” he said, before launching the outlet.

“The store is just part of our overall plan to expand our focus and footprint in East Malaysia so that more customers may enjoy the best of what U Mobile has to offer in terms of customer service as well as our innovative product range supported by Malaysia’s No 1 5G network.

“We are here to stay,” Navin added.

The move highlights the telco’s continuing efforts to further expand reach and enhance customer engagement in the state.

The full-service store will provide customers with the complete range of U Mobile’s offerings and mobile digital experiences, such as an exclusive gaming corner for customers to test the power of U Mobile 5G.

Apart from that, customers can walk in to subscribe to any U Mobile plan, such as its U Borneo prepaid and postpaid plans, browse the latest 5G devices for bundling options, activate eSIM, port over while maintaining their current number or change their rate plan.

To celebrate the launch of its new store, the first 250 customers who walk in to sign up for a device bundled with U Postpaid Borneo 68, U Postpaid 68 or U Postpaid 98 will be eligible for rebates up to RM120, as well as other exciting free gifts, while stocks last.

This promotion starts on Friday and will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Besides that, U Mobile is also hosting the Cara U Sabah Fest, a three-day festival to celebrate this milestone.

It will, among others, showcase the best of Sabah’s rich culture and talents, such as singer Stacy Anam who is U Mobile’s appointed East Malaysian ambassador.

The Sabahan performer will debut a new song called “Cara U”.

Besides Stacy, the event will also feature artistes like Andi Bernadee, ISOBAHTOS, Estranged and K Clique.

Attendees could also win prizes like the latest 5G devices, limited edition headwear and more.

Entrance is free. For more information, visit www.u.com.my/CaraUSabah.
