Teen biker killed in early morning accident near Kluang


KLUANG: A teen biker was killed in an accident in the wee hours of the morning here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said that the 18-year-old was on his motorcycle when he lost control of his vehicle at KM58.5 of the Batu Pahat-Mersing road.

"The victim was thrown off his motorcycle and landed on the metal road divider," he said in a statement on Wednesday (April 10), adding that the victim died at the scene.

"We would like to remind all road users to be careful and considerate on the road, especially during the festive season," he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Meanwhile, Kluang Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Nuzul Azroy said they received a call about the incident at 2.28am.

"We managed to free the victim's body from the road divider with a circular saw. He was declared dead by medical officers at the scene and handed over to the police for further action," he said.
