Woman killed after ramming her motorcycle into a cow

KOTA BHARU: A woman was killed after crashing her motorcycle into a cow at KM80 of Jalan Gua Musang-Kota Bharu (Bukit Ah Kim) on Friday (March 30)

Kuala Krai police chief Supt Mazlan Mamat said the accident happened at 7.24am while the woman was riding to work from Rancangan Pemulihan Tanah Chuchoh Puteri to Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra in Kuala Krai.

He said the 35-year-old motorcyclist collided with a cow that was crossing the road and was pronounced dead at the scene from serious head and body injuries.

"Her body was taken to the Forensic Unit of Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai for an autopsy while the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said Saturday (March 30).

Meanwhile, Mazlan said there were 23 cases involving livestock in Kuala Krai from the beginning of January to Friday (March 29), of which 20 collisions involved vehicle damage, two cases caused injuries, and one fatal case.

Police advised road users to be vigilant when driving in the Kuala Krai area, which regularly records accidents involving farm animals.

"The red-flagged areas are in Telekong, Keroh, Batu Jong, Pahi, Bukit Ah Kim, and Laloh, which are rife with livestock accidents,” he said. – Bernama
