Dr Wee extends his condolences to the family of Kuala Kubu Baharu assemblyman


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed his condolences to the family of Kuala Kubu Baharu State Assemblyman from DAP who passed away from cancer.

"I have known YB Lee Kee Hiong since 1988 when we were University student leaders, having met at a National Student Leadership Camp in Penang at that time," the MCA president shared in a Facebook posting on Thursday (Mar 21).

Despite now being in different political parties, Dr Wee said it had not hindered their friendship throughout the years.

"As her friend, I am dismayed upon learning of her passing," he said.

"Her contributions to the community especially in Selangor will not be forgotten. Her service as assemblyman for several terms has left lasting memories among the local community."

Lee had been Kuala Kubu Baharu State Assemblyman since May 2013.

It had been reported that Lee, 58, died from cancer at 10am on Thursday. Her passing was confirmed by DAP leaders contacted by media in the morning.
