Teenager abducted and beaten up in JB


JOHOR BARU: A 17-year-old teenage boy was abducted and beaten up in Kota Masai near Pasir Gudang here.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident occurred at around 5pm on Friday (March 15) and a video of the incident went viral the same day.

"The police are carrying out an investigation into the abduction of the victim. Based on the video, the victim was hit with a helmet and pushed into a car boot before being taken away from the scene," he said here on Saturday (March 16).

Supt Mohd Sohaimi initial investigations revealed that the victim was taken to a house located near where he was abducted from.

He said the victim was hit several times with a baton and other objects, causing bruising on his right cheek, neck, shoulders, back and bleeding from his left ear.

"Police have arrested three suspects aged from 15 to 37 at a few locations in Pasir Gudang.

"One suspect has a record of 26 prior crimes, including for drugs. He also tested positive for methamphetamine use," he said.

Supt Mohd Sohaimi said police were still investigating the motive behind the incident and tracking down other suspects involved.

He urged those with information on the case to contact Seri Alam police headquarters at 07-386 4222 or lodge a report at the nearest police station.
