Details of Gig Workers Commission under review, says Steven Sim

PUTRAJAYA: Details of the Gig Workers Commission are currently under review, says the Human Resource Minister.

Steven Sim said the ministry is currently conducting it in collaboration with Universiti Malaya (UM).

“The review includes refining the terms (of the commission), its functions, and financial management.

“An interim report will be presented to the Cabinet in three months,” he said after the launch of the free contribution initiative at Menara Perkeso here on Wednesday (March 13).

On March 2, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the formation of a Gig Workers Commission.

The commission is expected to protect and safeguard the welfare of gig workers in the country.
