School canteens to operate during Ramadan for non-Muslim students


KUALA LANGAT: School canteens will operate throughout the month of Ramadan from Tuesday (March 12) for the benefit of non-Muslim students, says Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

“Canteens must remain in operation,” she said after visiting SK Saujana Putra here on Monday (March 11).

Fadhlina said there needed to be awareness and respect for the needs of non-Muslim students as well.

“The process of teaching respect and mutual understanding between each other is crucial during the holy month of Ramadan,” she said, adding that teachers would have the experience to manage any issues arising.
