eKasih to be integrated with Padu to ensure no one left behind, says Dr Zaliha

KUALA LUMPUR: The eKasih system will be integrated with the Central Database Hub (Padu) to ensure that those in need are not left behind, says Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

In a Parliamentary written reply dated March 7, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) said this is similar to how the eKasih system was integrated with the database of other agencies such as the National Registration Department (NRD), Welfare Department, Finance Ministry, Education Ministry and state zakat offices.

The eKasih system was developed in 2007 as a national poverty database.

Padu, which was launched earlier this year, will contain profiles of individuals and households of Malaysians and permanent residents aged 18 and above.

The information in the profile would be updated on a periodic basis through integration of data from various sources.

Dr Zaliha was responding to a question by Shaharizukirnain Abd Kadir (PN-Setiu) on the government’s strategies to ensure that no eKasih aid recipients would be left behind with Padu.
