Dad killed, three kids hurt in Sibu crash

SIBU: A man was killed and his three children were injured after their vehicle skidded and crashed into a tree along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman here on Tuesday (March 5).

Sibu Zone 4 fire chief Andy Alie said the deceased had been identified as Joseph Tuah Lawrence, 35.

The children, aged four to 12, were sent to Hospital Sibu for treatment, he added.

"We received an emergency call on the incident at 10.30am and immediately sent a team to the scene," he said.

At the location, they found that a four-wheel drive had crashed into a tree beside the road.

Andy said the firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment and a winch to free the victims from the wreckage.
