Woman killed in Bidor water surge incident, four missing


IPOH: One woman died while four other people are feared to have drowned after being swept away in a water surge incident at Kampung Poh in Bidor.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon said the incident occurred at about 4pm on Wednesday (Feb 7) while the victims were picnicking near a river in the village.

"Those missing include one woman and three children.

"Another woman and a child, about 12 years old, are safe," he said in a statement.

"A search and rescue operation is now ongoing," he added.
