Sultan Ibrahim leaves Johor's Istana Bukit Serene


JOHOR BARU: Yang di-Pertuan Agong His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has left Istana Bukit Serene to go to the Royal hangar at Senai International Airport.

The Royal entourage left the palace gate at around 7.45am and would take about 30 minutes to reach the Royal hangar.

Crowds of people have been waiting along the Skudai highway since the wee hours of Wednesday (Jan 31) morning to wave to Sultan Ibrahim and his entourage as they make their way to the Royal hangar.

Sultan Ibrahim is ascending the Federal throne as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia for a five-year term starting Wednesday (Jan 31).

Sultan Ibrahim is leaving to Kuala Lumpur using his private plane and will be accompanied by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
