Cops nab 10 in KL raid, seize RM80,000 in drugs


KUALA LUMPUR: A joint narcotics operation by the Wangsa Maju and Brickfields police saw 10 people being arrested for drug-related offences and the seizure of drugs worth over RM80,000.

In a statement on Saturday (Jan 27), Wangsa Maju deputy OCPD Dept Supt Norhisham Mustapar said that the raid was conducted on Jan 24 in Jalan Syed Putra.

"The raid saw the seizure of around 432g of Erimin-5 pills, 5.42kg of ganja, 254g of methamphetamines and 326g of heroin. Six suspects tested positive for drugs while another four tested negative," he said.

A total of RM17,600 in cash, a motorcycle and a car were also seized by the police during the raid.

The value of the drugs seized has been placed at RM81,196. It is believed that the drugs seized could have been used by 2,500 addicts.

All suspects have been remanded until Jan 30.
