PTD urged to uphold professionalism in duties

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service Association (PPTD) has called on all its members and the Administrative and Diplomatic Officers (PTD) to continue to focus and maintain their professionalism in carrying out responsibilities entrusted to them.

As PTDs, the association said they should maintain integrity in their service.

In a statement, the association said it viewed seriously the allegations made against the Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN).

It also said that all parties should not make baseless accusations and issue defamatory statements against the KSN.

“Such attacks will have negative implications for the KSN and the public service institution and affect the people’s trust

in the government,” read the statement, as reported by Bernama.

The statement was issued over a false message that went viral on social media regarding allegations against KSN, as well as a media statement issued by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on Jan 17.

“To stop this from happening again, PPTD hopes that the authorities will take action to investigate the matter.

“PPTD also hopes that accusations and slander against civil servants, especially those in key public service positions, will not recur,” it said.
