Lorry crashes into police roadblock in Shah Alam


SHAH ALAM: A lorry broke through a police blockade, injuring two.

In a statement on Wednesday (Jan 17), Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said that the incident occurred on Tuesday (Jan 16) at a roadblock along Seksyen 21.

According to the police, it happened at around 11.40am when they were inspecting a husband and wife couple on a motorbike.

"Both victims, aged in their forties, suffered injuries to the leg, hip and neck areas. They are both being treated at the Shah Alam hospital," he said.

The lorry driver, aged 31, was arrested following the crash. He tested negative for drugs and had no prior criminal records.

ACP Mohd Iqbal added that the driver will be remanded on Thursday (Jan 18).

He also urged all road users to remain calm and to cooperate with the police whenever there were roadblocks.
