Rapid KL extends bus and rail services for New Year


PETALING JAYA: Rapid KL bus and rail services operations will be extended on Dec 31 to cater for those who are in the city to celebrate the New Year.

The extension involves 12 light rail train (LRT) stations, MRT and KL Monorail, three Rapid Bus Transit (BRT) and 21 Rapid KL bus routes and MRT transit.

The LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT stations where services are extended until 1.30am are Kelana Jaya route: KLCC Masjid Jamek, Ampang/ Sri Petaling route: Masjid Jamek, Bandaraya, IOI Puchong Jaya, Maluri; Monorail route: Bukit Bintang; Kajang route: Bukit Bintang, TRX, Cochrane, Maluri; Putrajaya MRT: TRX; Sunway BRT doute: Sunway Lagoon, SunMed, SunU-Monash.

"While other stations will end their operations as usual, passengers can still continue their journey after coming out at these stations," said Rapid KL in a statement on Friday (Dec 29).

"Passengers are advised to use Touch and Go cards to enjoy a more seamless trip to avoid the congestion during entry and exit as well as when taking the buses.

Rapid KL said it will increase its manpower to support its operation and ensure a smooth journey for the passengers.

"The frequency of all train services including, LRT, MRT and monorail will be increased from 1pm until the end of its operation,” it said.
