Slow-moving traffic along major highways as of 10pm

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flow on several major highways was reported to be slow-moving on Monday night (Dec 25) as city dwellers prepare to return to work tomorrow after the Christmas holidays.

A spokesperson from the Malaysian Highway Authority said as of 10 pm, congestion stretching up to 14 kilometres was reported at the Gombak Toll Plaza from Genting Sempah towards Kuala Lumpur due to increased traffic.

"However, traffic flow in both directions at Jalan Duta and Sungai Besi toll plazas is under control despite an increase in the number of vehicles," he told Bernama.

In addition, PLUS, on its official social media account, reported slow-moving traffic from Gopeng to Tapah and from Bidor to Sungkai.

Similar conditions were reported from the Machap Rest and Service Area to Sedenak, as well as from Senawang to Port Dickson. – Bernama
