Bumiputra population estimated at 21.3 million this year

PUTRAJAYA: The bumiputra population is estimated at 21.3 million or 63.9% of the 33.4 million population of Malaysia this year, according to the Bumiputera Statistics 2023 report released by the Statistics Department.

The male bumiputra population is estimated at 10.8 million and females at 10.5 million, while the gender ratio for the overall bumiputra population was 102 males for every 100 females, said Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin in a statement.
