PETALING JAYA: There are no shortcuts to addressing the occurrence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among teens except to educate them about sexual and reproductive health from a young age, say children’s activists.

Juliana Ooi of X Ed Malaysia, a social enterprise, said with most Asian parents finding it awkward to discuss the birds and the bees with their children, it will be best to first equip the parents with knowledge for the task.
