Motorcyclists killed in collision on Penang Bridge

GEORGE TOWN: Two motorcyclists were killed after colliding with a car on the Penang Bridge in the early hours of Saturday (Nov 11).

The accident on the road to the mainland is believed to have been caused by a speeding car.

In photos posted online, the badly-damaged wreckage of the car was seen resting on the shoulder of the bridge with a motorcycle broken in half.

Initial information suggests that the 17-year-old driver of the car was racing before ramming into the motorcycle. Still, social media users who recorded the car passing on the bridge pointed out that it was alone and speeding furiously across.

Meanwhile, Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Cheng Shan said a post-mortem and investigation is ongoing.
