PETALING JAYA: The country is moving closer to recognising the profession of social workers and regulating social work with the Social Work Profession Bill expected to be tabled next year.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the Bill will not only recognise social work as a valued profession, but will give due recognition to the drivers of the care economy.
