PETALING JAYA: The Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry will stop the allocation of the Ecological Fiscal Transfer for Biodiversity Conservation (EFT) to Kelantan if its state government pursues its proposal to modify the Conservation and Development of Environmentally Sensitive Areas (KSAS).

In a statement, minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (pic) said the proposal was not in line with the implementation principles of EFT, which is an additional financial incentive from the Federal Government to state governments introduced in 2019 to protect and conserve important areas for biological diversity including KSAS.
