Amanah postpones national convention to focus on Melaka polls

KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah has postponed its national convention by a week to allow its members to focus on campaigning for the upcoming 16th Melaka State Election.

The convention, originally scheduled for Nov 14 and 15, will now be held on Nov 21 and 22 in Shah Alam.

Amanah secretary-general Muhammad Faiz Fadzil said the decision was made during a meeting of the party's national leadership committee on Thursday (Oct 15) night.

He said the postponement was necessary as the convention's original dates coincided with polling in Melaka.

"Amanah has instructed its election machinery nationwide to focus on assisting Pakatan Harapan's campaign in Melaka," he said in a statement.

Faiz said the party viewed the state election as an opportunity for voters to reject corrupt and manipulative politics.

He expressed hope that the election would bring meaningful change and strengthen justice and prosperity in Melaka.
