Two elderly men killed in crash on NSE near Slim River


IPOH: Two elderly men were killed when their four-wheel-drive vehicle crashed into the back of a trailer at KM365 northbound of the North-South Expressway near Slim River.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre officer-in-charge Faiezaruddin Mohd Yusop said the victims, aged 83 and 76 years old, died on the spot during the incident on Friday (Oct 6) at about 5.40am.

He said that the victims were found trapped in the wrecked vehicle, and their deaths were confirmed by Health Ministry personnel.

"Their bodies were handed over to the police for the next course of action.

"The trailer driver, 31, was unharmed," Faiezaruddin said, adding that the operation ended at about 7.05am.
