Air quality: Moderate API recorded in 58 areas on Sept 17


KUALA LUMPUR: Moderate Air Pollution Index (API) readings have been recorded at 58 areas nationwide the Environment Department (DOE) recorded as of 3pm on Sunday (Sept 17).

Readings from the DOE's air quality monitoring stations published on its website showed Cheras here recorded the highest API reading at 96, Shah Alam, Selangor (91) and Kuching, Sarawak (90).

An API of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).

The API data is released every hour based on readings recorded at 68 air quality monitoring stations across the country. – Bernama
