PETALING JAYA: Imported white rice will get more costly going by past trends on global prices, says the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry.

“The trading price is about US$700 (RM3,272) per tonne now. We anticipate that international rice prices will continue to rise,” said the ministry’s Agricultural Industry Development Division secretary Datuk Azman Mahmood.
