Pertiwi Soup Kitchen founder Munirah Abdul Hamid passes away


PETALING JAYA: The founder of NGO Pertiwi Soup Kitchen and human rights activist Datuk Munirah Abdul Hamid passed away early Monday (Sept 4) morning.

Pertiwi Soup Kitchen said this in a statement today.

"Pertiwi President Munirah passed away at 4am early this morning at her home in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. Details on the funeral will be informed later," said the statement.

Pertiwi Soup Kitchen is well known for its food distribution program with the homeless and urban poor in Kuala Lumpur for more than five decades.
