Taiping Bird Week a hit with foreign visitors


TAIPING: Taiping Bird Week (TBW), which has been organised at Taman Tasik Taiping here since 2017, has succeeded in attracting tourists, especially bird enthusiasts from various countries.

Taiping Zoo and Night Safari director Dr Muhamad Ridhwan Affendi said that among the tourists who came for the event were those from the United States, Britain, Canada, India and the Middle East.

“Most tourists from Singapore also come here, where bird watching and bird photography are among their favourite activities,” he said when met by reporters after launching TBW 2023 on behalf of Taiping Municipal Council president Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir at Taman Tasik Taiping here yesterday, Bernama reported.

TBW lasts for a week until Aug 27 and provides various activities such as a photo exhibition of bird species in Taiping, bird-related sharing sessions, Taiping Bird Race and exhibitions and sales by various agencies.
