State polls: Unity govt to hold two mega ceramah in Penang on Aug 11


GEORGE TOWN: Two mega unity ceramah organised by Penang Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional will be held on Friday (Aug 11), the eve of the state elections.

The events will be held simultaneously on the island and mainland.

Both ceramah will kick off at 7.30pm at Persiaran Karpal Singh and Woolley Car Park in Raja Uda.

The big guns from both parties scheduled to appear at the events include Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh; Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir; caretaker chief minister Chow Kon Yeow; Deputy Finance Minister Steven Sim; Deputy Communications and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching; Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong; DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng; DAP national vice-chairman M Kulasegaran; Balik Pulau MP Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik; Bayan Lepas candidate Azrul Mahathir Aziz; and DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang.

In conjunction with the event at Karpal Singh Promenade, the road closure there will start from 12.01am on Aug 11 to 1am the next day.

Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor and Negri Sembilan go to the polls on Saturday (Aug 12).
