State polls: 35% early voters cast ballots for Kota Lama seat as of 10am

KOTA BARU: A total of 305 voters, or 35% of those eligible, have cast their ballots for the Kota Lama state seat as of 10am on Tuesday (Aug 8).

Many were seen lining up outside the voting station at the Kota Baru police headquarters (IPK) as early as 8am.

Kota Lama candidates Dr Hafidzah Mustakim (PH-Amanah), independent Izat Bukhary Ismail Bukhary, and PAS’ Datuk Zamri Ismail were also present outside the station.

Dr Hafidzah said the positive reception from Kota Baru early voters was encouraging and an exciting sign for things to come.

"It shows they feel a strong sense of responsibility to vote," she said.

Dr Hafidzah says she feels confident about winning but does not underestimate her opponents and will continue with her campaign.

"Their votes will determine the fate of the entire state so I urge everyone to get the right information and vote with your heart," she said.

Early voting will be held from 8am to 5pm on Tuesday (Aug 8).
