StarCarSifu Auto Show offers plenty of choices

Wheels attraction: Visitors checking out the new cars at last year’s StarCarSifu Auto Show in Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur.

KUALA LUMPUR: If you are among the many looking for a new car, don’t miss out on the variety on offer at the first 2023 StarCarSifu Auto Show which opens tomorrow at Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur.

The participating automotive brands include Volvo, Proton, Subaru, BYD, Perodua, Ford and Nissan.

The five-day show is organised by Star Media Group.

Admission is free, and the auto show runs from 10am to 10pm until Aug 13, with an array of the latest cars on display.

Besides conventional petrol-powered vehicles, visitors can also check out the latest high-tech plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs).

Volvo will be showcasing its latest locally-assembled XC40 and C40 Recharge Pure Electric electric vehicles that not only combine luxury with performance but are eco-friendly.

Volvo also offers two dependable PHEVs – the XC90 Recharge T8 Ultimate and XC60 Recharge.

Volvo is also offering a promotion package worth almost RM20,000 for the XC90 Recharge and XC60 Recharge that runs until Sept 30.

The new Proton X90 sports utility vehicle has a powerful 1.5-litre TGDi engine aided by a 48V electric motor that ensures excellent performance on city roads and highways.

Buyers can choose either a six-seater or seven-seater X90 to suit their preferences or budget.

The new Subaru Forester has the award-winning preventive safety system EyeSight 4.0, which is more intuitive than ever.

The Subaru EyeSight 4.0’s unique combination of Lane Centering Function, Lane Departure Prevention, Pre-Collison Braking and other functions fulfil Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) semi-autonomous driving technology that adds another layer of protection and safety.

Also, promotions for Subaru buyers include a free five-year comprehensive maintenance service package for the new Forester, up to RM7,000 rebates, and a free five-year comprehensive maintenance service package for the XV (terms apply).

BYD is expected to showcase its recently launched Dolphin BEV priced from RM99,900.

The Dolphin has a spacious interior and comes fully loaded with smart features and technology usually found in higher priced BEVs.

Meanwhile, Perodua’s latest second-generation Axia offers a much improved compact hatchback over the previous generation model and better fuel economy.

Its proven 1.0-litre EEV engine with VVT-i technology mated to a dual mode continuously variable transmission, when used with the Eco Idle system, can deliver a miserly fuel consumption of up to 27.4km per litre based on the Malaysian Driving Cycle.

Ford’s next-generation Ranger Raptor, powered by a 2.0-litre bi-turbodiesel engine with a rugged appearance yet a refined SUV-like interior, will also be available for a closer look.

Book a Ranger Raptor and a specially designed Baja 1000-inspired Raptor 2.0L Diesel T-shirt will be given to buyers when they take delivery of the vehicle. They will also get an additional gift of RM500 discount on Ford Ranger Getaways that is redeemable via promo code upon vehicle delivery.

Nissan will be showing its Serena J IMPUL with added touches of sportiness to this popular three-row seating MPV.

It comes with a Japan-produced J IMPUL aerokit featuring front and rear chrome plating, as well as 18-inch IMPUL Millennium alloy wheels in a black and polished finish.

Aside from car makers, other participants will include Hong Leong Assurance and local custom car mat brand Trapo.

Following last year’s inaugural format of two shows, the second 2023 StarCarSifu Auto Show will be held from Aug 23 to 27 in Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Baru.
