Eddin Syazlee dropped as Negri Perikatan chief

SEREMBAN: Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith has been dropped as Negri Sembilan Perikatan Nasional chief.

He will be replaced by Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

Confirming this, state Perikatan secretary Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus said Eddin Syazlee had conveyed this to the state liaison committee on Wednesday (May 31) night.

A note purportedly written by Eddin Syazlee thanking his committee for their support during his tenure as state chief had gone viral.

In GE14, Eddin Syazlee contested under the Pakatan Harapan banner for the Kuala Pilah parliamentary seat and won with a razor-thin 200 vote majority.

However, he failed to defend the seat in GE15, losing to Barisan Nasional's Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan, who won with a majority of 6,483 votes in a five-cornered fight.

Eddin Syazlee had previously served as the deputy minister in the works ministry, communications and multimedia ministry and in the prime minister's department.
