Cops arrest 13 suspects over Bukit Ampang scuffle

KUALA LUMPUR: A fight that started over loud motorcycles has led to the arrests of 13 suspects.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak, in a statement on Thursday (June 1), said the fight occurred in Bukit Ampang on May 29.

"Investigations showed that the fight started after a group was unhappy over loud motorcycle noises.

"One of the suspects shouted at the other party and a fight between the two groups ensued.

"Three suspects suffered light injuries and were treated at the Ampang Hospital," he said.

Following the fight, police rounded up 13 suspects within the Ampang Jaya area on May 30. The suspects are aged between 15 and 26.

One suspect was a secondary school student while the others were working as food delivery riders and sales assistants.

"Urine tests showed all suspects were negative for drugs. Of the 13 suspects, three men aged 20 to 26 had prior criminal and drug-related offences.

"All have been remanded until June 3," he said.
