Register workers by June 30 or risk penalties, Sabah Socso tells employers

KOTA KINABALU: Employers in Sabah have been reminded to register their workers with the Social Security Organisation (Socso) by June 30 or face penalties.

In a statement on Tuesday (May 23), Sabah Socso advised employers of the impending deadline.

The registration exercise actually started on May 1, according to Sabah Socso officer Teck Seng.

Employers are advised to register their workers by June 30 to avoid being compounded, charged and made to pay interest on late payment of workers' contributions, he added.

He said employers may register their workers by visiting Socso's ASSIST portal, visiting any of the 54 Socso offices nationwide or contacting the Socso careline at 1300228000.

“Socso will not compromise with employers’ non-compliance after this grace period and they will no longer be exempted from enforcement action,” he said.
