Cops tracking down snatch theft suspects in Hulu Selangor

HULU SELANGOR: Police are looking for two men in a silver Perodua Kelisa in connection with a snatch theft.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said they detected a Facebook post at around 10am on Thursday (May 11) urging people in the area to beware of the suspects in the car and also to contact the police immediately.

"The post also had a police report from a snatch theft victim.

"Based on our checks, at around 8.05am on Wednesday (May 10), we received a report from a 42-year-old housewife," he said in a statement on Thursday.

The woman claimed she was in front of a bus station along Jalan Ros 1, Bukit Sentosa with one of her children when she was approached by the men in the car.

"The men pretended to ask for directions and one of them snatched her necklace.

"Another suspect also grabbed her child's arm when she screamed for help," he said, adding that the suspects then fled the scene.

He said police have opened an investigation paper for gang robbery and are now looking for the suspects.

"We have increased crime prevention patrols in the area to track down and arrest the suspects to ensure such incidents do not occur again," he said.

Those with information on the case should contact the Hulu Selangor police headquarters at 03-6065 1021 or Insp Azman Abdul Karim at 03-6064 1222.
