Motorcyclist killed, six hurt in high speed crash


SEREMBAN: A motorcyclist was killed and six others injured after their motorcycles were involved in a high speed accident along the North-South Expressway near here.

OCPD Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said the 19-year-old victim died on the spot at KM259.9 northbound of the expressway from severe body injuries in the 2.40am incident.

“The victim was riding a Yamaha 135 LC motorcycle in the middle lane when he lost control of the machine

“His bike then skidded, causing six other motorcyclists to collide while trying to avoid him.

“As a result of the collision, two of them, aged 21 and 18, were seriously injured in the head, hands and feet.

“Four others also suffered minor injuries to their hands and feet,” ACP Nanda said in a statement.

ACP Nanda said the victim’s body was sent to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for a post-mortem.

Eye witnesses are urged by the police to come forward if they have any information that may assist in the investigation. — Bernama
