Thirty M'sians evacuated from Sudan now in Jeddah, to fly home on April 28, says Zambry


PETALING JAYA: The 30 Malaysians evacuated from Sudan arrived at the King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah on Thursday (April 27), says Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

The Foreign Minister said they had arrived in Jeddah after travelling almost nine hours from Sudan Port.

He also said that the 30 evacuees would be flown home to Malaysia on Friday (April 28).

"The operations of the Malaysian embassy in Sudan are also temporarily suspended," Zambry said.

Earlier, the Foreign Minister was reported to have said that another two Malaysians, who were employees of the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) in Abyei were not part of the group and their evacuation would be handled by the UN. - Bernama
