PETALING JAYA: Muda information chief Luqman Long has stepped down as the special functions officer to Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh.
According to Luqman, he had handed in his notice of his resignation earlier.
"I already informed I would quit in the first week of April.
"A month's notice (was given) and the office knew about this," Luqman tweeted on Friday (April 21) night.
Luqman also said he knew of the criticism over his comments on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's plans to hold Hari Raya Aidilfitri open houses in Kelantan, Kedah and Terengganu.
"Try to calm down and have some kuih raya first," said Luqman.
On April 20, Luqman tweeted: "Imagine the reaction if (Datuk Seri) Ismail Sabri Yaakob organised Hari Raya celebrations across six or seven states".
Luqman's resignation comes amidst heightened tensions between Muda and Pakatan Harapan.
Muda leaders have also complained about delays over its application to join Pakatan.
PKR Youth chief Adam Adli recently said that discussions on Muda's application to join Pakatan was postponed as the government is presently focussing on other important issues.
On Thursday, the Prime Minister's Department announced that the Malaysia Madani open house with the Prime Minister in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri would be held in Kedah on April 29, Kelantan (May 12 ) and Terengganu (May 13).
Anwar is also expected to attend three other open house events in Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan.
